New to E-Bikes? Here’s What I’ve Learned (and What I’m Still Figuring Out)
I just became a proud e-bike owner. I didn’t have a grand plan. I wasn’t training for anything. I just wanted a better way to get around—something fun, practical, and a little more planet-friendly.
So, I got an e-bike.
And then came the questions.
🛠 What Do I Actually Need?
Right away, I realized there was a whole world of accessories, gear, and tweaks to consider:
Do I need a different helmet?
What’s the best lock to keep this thing safe?
Do I really need a mirror or lights—or both?
How much should I spend on panniers, baskets, or racks?
I went searching for answers, and what I found was… a lot. Some of it helpful. Some of it confusing. Some clearly aimed at hardcore cyclists with way more experience than me.
🚲 Why I Started This Blog
That’s why I created The Assisted Pedaler—a place to share what I learn as I go.
I’m not an expert or an athlete. I’m just someone who discovered how much fun and freedom comes with electric biking, and now I want to help other folks who are just getting started too.
This site is where I’ll post:
Reviews of gear I try (and whether it’s actually worth it)
Real talk about what works for daily e-bike life
Tips I wish I knew earlier
Mistakes I make so you (hopefully) don’t
I’ll also share affiliate links to products I recommend—because if I’m spending time testing and researching, I want to be transparent and maybe earn a little something to keep this project going.
🌿 Let’s Figure This Out Together
If you're a new e-bike rider, or just e-bike curious, you’re in the right place. I’m learning, testing, and adjusting every day—just like you probably are.
You can follow along on Pinterest and Instagram, or check back here for updates as I build out more guides, reviews, and beginner tips.
Thanks for riding along with me.
